accidental UFC fan
September 26, 2009i have been accidentally watching a lot of UFC lately. accidentally because cable is not availble till next week and dvd options are limited.plus he uber loves watching it so I just accidentally watch it with him.
yes, i know a lot of people see this as the art of ultimate fighting.first few minutes of watching and i saw it as brawling with higher stakes. it reminded me of the barbarians in the arena killing each other while the crowd cheers for whoever’s death.
oh well, it’s not as brutal as that.but close.
when u get used to the pounding and take downs, u will appreciate the skills these guys have..jujitsi, boxing, muay thai, karate..their all masters of some sort on one of those.
do i still find it barbaric? yes.
but so what?we are in the generation where Mommy Dionisia dances wearimg backless glittering gowns, Darna is remaked over and over and Luis Manzano is applauded for a “dramatic” performance. This is entertainment. If it appeals to the viewers, then businessis good.
And so I admit. I am an accidental and occasional Mir and Griffin UFC fan.

me, i still can’t bring myself to watch this stuff. although i’ve developed an uncanny liking for boxing lately because of pacqiao, UFC is still too much for my “frail” heart.
